ASIRT, Medicine Hat police investigating Saturday shooting

The Alberta Serious Incident Response Team is working with the Medicine Hat Police Service to investigate an incident involving gunshots at an apartment on Third Avenue Southwest.

The incident took place on Saturday, July 27, 2024, when a 30-year-old-man discharged a firearm down a hallway near where his landlord was standing, according to the building owner.

The Medicine Hat Police Service said in a statement that the suspect and a number of officers were taken to hospital for injuries sustained in the incident.

ASIRT is expected to make a statement Monday.
