Leadership race helps Alberta NDP to narrowly out-fundraise UCP in Q2
LETHBRIDGE, AB – UPDATE (8:30 a.m. Wednesday): The United Conservative Party (UCP) says it has actually raised more money in Q2 2024 than the Alberta NDP.
The UCP tells LNN that it collects donations through both the central party and constituency associations, while the NDP only receives contributions centrally. The Elections Alberta report only shows funds raised through central parties.
When accounting for the $169,556 received by its constituency associations, the UCP says it has garnered a total of $1,411,659 between April-June, nearly $160,000 more than the New Democrats.
