Albertans came together to support those affected by wildfires in Jasper.

Pattison Media led the Alberta Day of Caring for Jasper fundraiser on Wednesday, July 31, 2024.

Residents were encouraged to either donate directly to the Canadian Red Cross or to have the proceeds from items dropped off at Alberta Bottle Depots go towards the effort.

Albertans donated a total of $518,482.

With the Governments of Alberta and Canada both providing matching donations, that amount tripled to $1,555,466.

A spokesperson with the Canadian Red Cross said the support for this initiative has been overwhelming.

Pattison Media thanks everyone who contributed.
