LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Lethbridge Bulls will take on the Okotoks Dawgs in the first round of the 2024 Western Canadian Baseball League playoffs.

Lethbridge finished the 2024 regular season with a 36-20 record, an improvement on their 31-25 record the year prior. Despite the improvement in the record, they trailed both the Sylvan Lake Gulls and the Dawgs in the West Division standings. The Gulls finished atop the division at 44-12, while Okotoks took second with a 42-14 record.

The 2024 season was a successful one for the Bulls. They finished fourth in the whole league in runs scored with 452 runs, and their pitchers combined for a 5.45 earned run average, fifth in the league. The Bulls really found their footing in the second half, winning 12 out of 13 games between July 10 and 27th.

The two teams faced off ten times in the regular season, with Okotoks taking six wins. However, the Dawgs only outscored the Bulls 62-59 in their games.

The Bulls are looking to capture their third WCBL championship in their 25th season in the league. They previously claimed the league’s top prize in 2021 and 2015.

Game one of the best-of-three series will be on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 in Okotoks, before returning to Lethbridge for game two on Thursday, August 8. If needed, the third game will go back to Okotoks the following day.
