TABER, AB – Two people are behind bars after allegedly stealing two vehicles.

The Taber Police Service (TPS) says, at approximately 10:30 p.m. on Monday, August 5, 2024, officers found an unattended motorhome at the Trout Pond in Taber.

It is believed that the motorhome had been stolen out of Red Deer.

A short time later, police say four people in a truck returned to the motorhome. The truck was stolen from a property in Brooks.

After taking the four occupants into custody, the TPS says they found five stolen license plates from various locations in Alberta.

Jamie George Hart, 37, of Sylvan Lake, is charged with operating a motor vehicle while prohibited, two counts of possessing stolen property over $5,000, five counts of possessing stolen property under $5,000, and four counts relating to not complying with court-imposed conditions.

Crystal Dawn Quinton, 35, of no fixed address, is charged with possessing stolen property over $5,000, three counts of possessing stolen property under $5,000, and eight counts relating to not complying with court-imposed conditions.

Following bail hearings, both suspects remain in custody.
