Bridget Mearns seeking NDP nomination for Lethbridge-West
LETHBRIDGE, AB – Another candidate is seeking a nomination for the NDP in Lethbridge-West for the upcoming by-election.
On Wednesday, August 7, 2024, Bridget Mearns announced her intention to run for the riding. Her announcement came with a statement.
“After much consideration and with great enthusiasm, I am thrilled to announce that I am officially entering the race to win the NDP nomination for Lethbridge West. I am the only candidate that can beat the UCP in the by-election and keep a strong voice in Lethbridge on the issues that matter, like health care, your CPP, and school class sizes.”
“Naheed Nenshi’s successful leadership bid ultimately turbocharged my motivation to get into this race. I share his vision of a growing party, continuing the legacy of Rachel Notley, and together forming a government that is pragmatic, smart, and capable, that respects all Albertans and the values we share. Alberta Values. I am excited about today’s NDP and to keep this riding firmly in the NDP hands.”
