Sentencing dates set for Coutts protesters Carbert and Olienick

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Two men convicted of mischief at Coutts, Alberta, border blockade won’t have to wait long before they learn their sentences.

On August 2nd, a jury found Anthony Olienick and Chris Carbert guilty of possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

Olienick was also convicted of possessing a pipe bomb.

But the two were acquitted of the more serious charge of conspiring to murder police officers.

In Lethbridge Court of King’s Bench on Monday, four days were set aside for sentencing at the end of the month.

The hearing is to be held August 26 and 27, take a one day break and return on the 29.

The sentence is expected August 30.
