Severe thunderstorm watch issued for parts of southern Alberta

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Intense thunderstorms could develop in the evening of August 12, 2024.

Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for some areas in southern Alberta, including Lethbridge, Fort MacLeod, Pincher Creek and Nanton.

They say the conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts and large hail.

Environment Canada is reminding residents that “When thunder roars, go indoors.”
