New free recipe book highlights southern Alberta creators, foods
“Lethbridge Farm-to-Table: Flavours from Southern Alberta” is now available.
The recipe book, created by Tourism Lethbridge and Alberta Food Tourism Strategies, in partnership with Alberta Open Farm Days, looks to promote local producers and agricultural products in the region.
It includes 25 recipes collected from 13 local producers, chefs, restauranteurs, and agrifood business owners with each featuring a local producer’s product.
Tourism Lethbridge Director of Brand Development Jarom Scott says southern Alberta has some of the best food-growing conditions in Canada and is situated in Canada’s Premier Food Corridor.
He says he is thrilled to showcase the local food scene in this way.
“We’re excited to partner with dedicated farmers, producers, caterers, and chefs to showcase delicious dishes from Lethbridge and the region. Over the past few years, working with Tannis and Rheannon from Food Tourism Strategies has been instrumental in our success. We couldn’t have won the 2023 Culinary Tourism Experience Award from the Tourism Industry AssociaGon of Canada without them,” says Scott.
“Lethbridge Farm-to-Table: Flavours from Southern Alberta“ is available to view online for free on the Tourism Lethbridge website.
The launch of the recipe book coincides with Alberta Open Farm Days, which takes place August 17-18, 2024. More than 170 farms across the province are inviting the public for open houses and the chance to try out locally-made goods.
