LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Community Foundation of Lethbridge and Southwestern Alberta has declared the opening of this year’s Fall grants program.

The foundation has been around since 1966, and it connects donors with causes that are impactful and meaningful.

Applications are now open for the Community Priorities Fund and the Henry S. Varley Fund for Rural Life.

The Community Priorities Fund is their largest granting initiative. It awards $550,000 in order to support the important work of their local charitable sector through two separate intakes.

The Henry S. Varley Fund for Rural Life awards $282,000 to support community organizations that work to sustain a high quality of life in Southwestern Alberta’s rural communities.

Executive Director, Charleen Davidson, states, “It really is an honour for us to be able to support the community through these two programs. Southwestern Alberta is extremely fortunate to have so many caring and committed individuals working hard to help build a healthy community.

Davidson continues, “All of us at the Community Foundation are proud to be able to play a role in their work. We thank our many donors because it is their continued generosity that makes all of this possible.”

Anyone wishing to donate can find details on how to do so on their website.

Applications will remain open until October 15, 2024 at 4:00 p.m.
