The Blood Tribe Police Service (BTPS) has laid charges after reportedly catching a person driving excessively fast and under the influence of substances.

They claim that a vehicle was observed on Saturday, August 17, 2024, driving at a speed of 151 kilometres per hour.

A 19-year-old from Standoff has been charged with impaired driving, careless driving, excessive speed and operating a motor vehicle without a license.

The vehicle was removed from the road.

The BTPS says excessive speed while impaired with drugs and/or alcohol can have devastating consequences.

β€œThe Blood Tribe Police Service would like to remind the public to travel under the posted speed limit and never operate a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs or alcohol,” reads a social media post from the BTPS.

LNN has reached out to the police service for additional details.
