LETHBRIDGE, AB – There are plenty of fun events this weekend, including two festivals, and Lethbridge News Now has the details.

Whoop-Up Days 2024 – August 23-24, 2024

This weekend marks the final two days of Whoop-Up Days 2024. The annual festival has many activities to take part in, such as a midway with rides and food, the Lethbridge Wildlife Festival, and live music every night. Big Sugar headlines the Original 16 stage on Friday, while Emerson Drive does the same on Saturday. Tickets can be purchased here or at the doors.

Taber Cornfest 2024

Taber Cornfest is also back this weekend. The free-to attend festival runs on both Friday and Saturday, and features events like a chili cookoff, a midway, food, and BMX races, among others. There are beer gardens all day on both days, and Friday will feature a Pure Power Wrestling show. More information can be found here.

Food Truck Fridays – Every Friday

Get your favourite Food Truck meals just outside Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden in the parking area. There are tons of trucks for food both sweet and savoury from noon until 8:00 p.m. Information on the trucks can be found here.

Jon Martin & Lovers – August 23, 2024

Local band Jon Martin & Lovers is performing at the Owl Acoustic Lounge on Friday night. The band describes themselves as a hazy blend of Alt-Country, Americana, and British pop music, inspired by life under the prairie skies. The show begins at 9:00.

Totally 80’s – August 7-24, 2024

New West Theatre’s first show of the 2024 season is wrapping up. Totally 80’s is a throwback to the music, style and costumes of the 1980s, featuring multiple chart-topping hits. There are shows at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, along with a matinee on Saturday at 1:00. Tickets can be purchased here.
