Lethbridge man facing weapons charges following search of northside home

LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Lethbridge Police Service has charged a 43-year-old man with multiple weapons offenses following a search warrant.

On August 23, 2024, police responded to a disturbance at a residence in north Lethbridge following a report alleging the occupant was in possession of illegal firearms, weapons and drugs.

Police obtained a search warrant, and seized over 70 firearms along with magazines, ammunition and prohibited weapons, including throwing stars, brass knuckles and butterfly knives.

The male occupant of the home was arrested without incident at a local business.

Jesse Ross Kano, 43, of Lethbridge, is charged with three counts of unauthorized possession of a prohibited/restricted weapon, careless use/storage of a firearm and knowingly possessing an unauthorized firearm.

Kano was released from custody on conditions, and will appear in court in Lethbridge on September 27.
