Applications open to join City of Lethbridge’s Boards, Commissions and Committees

LETHBRIDGE, AB – You can play an active role in shaping the development of the community.

The City of Lethbridge is asking residents to consider joining one of its Boards, Commissions or Committees (BCCs).

Positions are currently open in 10 BCCs, which involve a variety of advisory, decision-making, quasi-judicial, or governing roles.

  • Animal Welfare Committee
  • Assessment Review Board
  • Combative Sports Commission
  • Historic Places Advisory Committee
  • Heart of Our City Committee
  • Lethbridge Library Board
  • Lethbridge Police Commission
  • Reconciliation Lethbridge Advisory Committee
  • Sir Alexander Galt Museum and Archives Board of Directors
  • Subdivision & Development Appeal Board

City Councillor and Chair of the Governance Standing Policy Committee Belinda Crowson says being involved with a BCC is a great way to give back to the community.

“Sitting on a Board, Commission or Committee is one of the best ways to provide your voice in the community to help with Council’s decisions,” says Crowson.

Anyone who is interested in joining a BCC is encouraged to refer to the BCC toolkit for information on eligibility, length of term, meetings times and more.

The deadline to apply for a BCC position is October 4, 2024.
