Coaldale RCMP on the scene of serious car crash

LETHBRIDGE, ABUPDATE: The RCMP says a teenage girl was killed in a collision northwest of Lethbridge.

At approximately 9:40 a.m. on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, two vehicles collided at the intersection of Township Road 102 and Range Road 221 near Diamond City.

A 14-year-old girl, who was a passenger in one of the vehicles, was declared deceased at the scene.

The two men who were driving each of the vehicles were taken to hospital with unknown injuries.

The highway has reopened for travel.

A serious motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Township Road 102 at Range Road 221 occurred Tuesday morning.

The RCMP is on the scene near Diamond City and say traffic will not be able to proceed through this area for quite some time.

The RCMP collision reconstructionist will be arriving to investigate further.

An update will be sent when the scene is clear.
