Severe thunderstorm watch in effect for parts of Southern Alberta

The City of Lethbridge and other parts of southern Alberta are under a severe thunderstorm watch issued by Environment Canada.

Areas include Lethbridge, Taber, Medicine Hat, Stirling, Barnwell and more.

Environment Canada states: “Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain.”

This watch will persist throughout the morning and afternoon of September 17.

In addition to that residents of Lethbridge are being encouraged to monitor alerts and forecasts for more updates.
