LETHBRIDGE, AB – The University of Lethbridge (U of L) has chosen its Alumni of the Year for the Pronghorns.

Cam Slomp received his BA in 1992 from the U of L, was a former Pronghorns men’s basketball standout and works as a financial advisor.

He earned Canada West Second Team All-Star honours during his post-secondary career and remains an active supporter of Pronghorn athletics.

The man is also on the board of directors of the Southern Alberta Art Galley and is co-founder of the Pronghorn Citizenship award.

In his professional life, Slomp is a financial advisor with Sun Life Canada and is the owner of LKA Financial Services Ltd. His team at Sun Life received the MAC of the Year, a national award for Canadian Multi-Advisor Corporations.

Pronghorns Athletics and Recreation Executive Director Neil Langevin says Slomp is an outstanding representative.

“We are excited to announce him as our second-ever recipient. A proud and steadfast supporter of Pronghorn Athletics, Cam has made an incredible impact on the University of Lethbridge and the wider Lethbridge community,” says Langevin.

Slomp will be honoured at Let There Be Light Night, a celebration of alumni achievement. It takes place on Friday, October 18, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. in the U of L Science Commons Atrium. Tickets are available online.
