RCMP charge man in murder of Lethbridge woman

OYEN, AB – RCMP in Alberta have charged a man with the death of a Lethbridge woman in Oyen.
At 11:14 on September 17, 2024, Oyen RCMP were dispatched to a location where clothing and other personal effects were located in a treeline along a rural road. Police deemed the matter suspicious, and the Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit took over the investigation.
Police searched the area, and found a victim. The deceased was identified as a 28-year-old woman from Lethbridge.
RCMP have arrested and charged 61-year-old Garry Dean Brown, a resident of Vulcan County, with second-degree murder. He was remanded into custody, and will appear in court in Hanna on September 25.
