Pincher Creek man charged with firearm & drug-related offences

STANDOFF, AB – The Blood Tribe Police Service has apprehended a man following an incident this past weekend.

They say there were reports of shots being fired near a home in Lower Standoff on Saturday, September 21, 2024.

Officers obtained a search warrant and claim to have seized 62 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 34 grams of suspected fentanyl, replica firearms, ammunition and multiple edged-weapons.

Multiple people were initially taken into custody but only one man ended up being charged.

Carter Dylan Rains, 32, of Pincher Creek, is charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and 10 counts of failing to comply with a prohibition order.

Rains remains in custody following a bail hearing.
