LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Lethbridge Police Service (LPS) has laid several charges against a man following a series of what it calls “out of control parties.”

Between August 6 and September 22, 2024, police responded to numerous reports of noisy parties, loud music and large groups of young people at a home on the 100 block of McGill Boulevard West.

Officers attended the home nine times, issuing warnings, tickets and ultimately, criminal charges.

LPS was informed on September 22 that a 15-year-old girl had allegedly been sexually assaulted by an adult man at an earlier party and that it had been recorded by multiple partygoers.

During the investigation, police spoke to a neighbour who had reportedly been threatened by a suspect.

Justin Chad Leavitt, 41, is charged with sexual assault, sexual interference, uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, causing a disturbance and 11 counts of mischief.

He was released on bail and is scheduled to appear in court on October 10, 2024.
