Waterton’s Canyon Church Camp fundraiser to have George Canyon performing

Oct 1, 2024 | 12:12 PM

On October 3, in support of the Canyon Church Camp fundraiser, George Canyon will perform a solo acoustic concert at Southminster United Church in Lethbridge.

All proceeds will go towards the Canyon Church Camp’s rebuilding.

In 2017, the camp, located in Waterton Lakes National Park, was destroyed by a wildfire.

More than half of its buildings were burned down, and they are now looking to rebuild with a bit of help from fundraising. They need $2 million and have accumulated $1.7 million so far.

After receiving the required licensing and permissions from Parks Canada, crews will officially begin to rebuild. In order to complete the rebuild, however, they are putting on a Fundraising Concert with country singer George Canyon as the performer.

George Canyon, who hails from Nova Scotia but now lives in Calgary, has been a singer for decades. He is also the National Anthem Singer for the Calgary Flames.

The concert starts at 7:30 on Thursday with doors opening at 6:30. It will be held at Southminster Church on Thursday.

Tickets, as well as more details, can be found here.
