Lethbridge man facing multiple drug, weapons charges following traffic stop

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Lethbridge Police have charged a 38-year-old male following a traffic stop.

On September 25, 2024 just after 7:30 p.m. police initiated a traffic stop along the 1400 block of 23 Avenue North.

Police observed drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle and the male occupant was found to have outstanding warrants. A search of the vehicle led to police seizing quantities of methamphetamine, fentanyl, cocaine, and drug paraphernalia including pipes, a scale and packaging.

Police also seized multiple weapons including a shotgun, ammunition, a knife, and hatchets, along with cash.

Matthew Douglas Dragland, 38, of Lethbridge, is facing multiple drug and weapons charges, and was remanded in custody. He made his first court appearance on September 30.
