Six Hurricanes prospects to compete at 2024 WHL Cup

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Six prospects for the Lethbridge Hurricanes will be representing their provinces in the 2024 WHL Cup.

The tournament will take place from October 23-27 in Red Deer at the Peavey Mart Centrium. It features teams from British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba competing in a round-robin tournament followed by playoffs.

Three Hurricanes prospects, Goaltender Leif Oaten and defencemen Reid Soper and Colt Carter will represent Team Alberta in the tournament. Forwards Matteo Di Stefano will play for team B.C., Jake Evans will represent Team Saskatchewan and Tyden Lafournaise will participate for Team Manitoba.

The six prospects were selected by the team in the 2024 WHL Prospects Draft.

Lafournaise was the team’s first-round pick, while Soper and Oaten followed in the second and third rounds, respectively. Evans followed in the fourth round, while Di Matteo and Carter went in the sixth.
