100 km/hr wind gusts forecast in southern Alberta

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Environment Canada has issued a wind warning for much of the region.

They say strong west winds will develop Friday afternoon, October 4, 2024, reaching speeds of up to 100 kilometres per hour.

“Damage to buildings, such as to roof shingles and windows, may occur,” reads the warning from Environment Canada.

Some of the impacted communities include Lethbridge, Taber, Milk River, Cardston, Fort Macleod, Pincher Creek, and Claresholm.

The high wind gusts are expected to die down in the evening.
