Marc Roussel named Excellence in Teaching award recipient from U of L

LETHBRIDGE, AB – A University of Lethbridge (U of L) professor has received an award for his success in the classroom.

Dr. Marc Roussel has been named the 2024 Excellence in Teaching Award winner from the U of L. Roussel is a chemistry professor who joined the school in 1995.

Roussel has written three textbooks, starting with a text for his second-year physical chemistry course. Roussel was also an early adopter of the “flipped classroom,” where students are expected to complete assigned readings before class so that class time can be spent working together on problems.

Roussel teaches classes ranging from first-year chemistry all the way to graduate courses. He was Head Judge of the Lethbridge Regional Science Fair from 2016 to 2020, Deputy National Judge-in-Chief at the Canada-Wide Science Fair from 2019 to 2023 and started a three-year term as National Judge-in-Chief in 2024.
