Lethbridge unemployment rate rises as less people look for work
LETHBRIDGE, AB – A southern Alberta city had a slight increase in its unemployment rate last month.
Statistics Canada has released its Labour Force Survey for September 2024.
It says the unemployment rate in the Lethbridge area was 5.1 per cent in September, increasing from 4.9 per cent in August.
The biggest difference during that time was participation in the labour force, which fell by 1,800 people or 2.2 per cent.
