Snowfall warning in effect for parts of southwest Alberta

Oct 21, 2024 | 10:28 AM

A snowfall warning is in effect for parts of southwest Alberta.

Snowfall with total amounts of 10 to 15 cm is expected for Monday, October 21, 2024 in the areas including Pincher Creek, Waterton Lakes National Park, and Crowsnest Pass.

Environment Canada says the highest snowfall amounts are expected over higher terrain, where upwards of 25 cm is possible. Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations, and visibility may be reduced.

In addition, a Special Weather Statement is in effect for a large portion of southern Alberta as well. Affected areas may see total accumulations of 5 to 10 cm before the snow ends tonight.
