LETHBRIDGE, AB – Lethbridge Polytechnic has taken the next step of their redesignation, unveiling a new logo on Wednesday, October 23, 2024.

The province announced that the post-secondary would be redesignated to a polytechnic beginning on September 3.

Advanced Education Minister Rajan Sawhney joined students and leadership at Lethbridge Polytechnic to unveil the new logo.

Sawhney said, “Seeing the exciting, new visual identity really brings home the fact that this is the start of a whole new era for Lethbridge Polytechnic. Students in southern Alberta will have new options to pursue polytechnic education programs without having to travel to our province’s largest centres.”

Dr. Brad Donaldson, president and CEO of Lethbridge Polytechnic, said the new visual representation was designed with input from current, former and prospective students, employees and partners in the community through the summer and early fall.

The polytechnic says the logo reflects Lethbridge Polytechnic’s connection to southern Alberta’s unique landscape, the mountains in the distance and the gentle arch of coulees and chinooks. It also incorporates a familiar green-blue colour gradient to represent land and sky.

The logo will be displayed on campus and in the community in time for the Fall Open House on November 6.
