Lethbridge Police investigating fatal collision involving motorcycle

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Lethbridge Police are investigating a fatal motorcycle collision that claimed the life of a 40-year-old man.

On October 24, 2024 just after 7 p.m., police and EMS responded to a report of a serious collision involving a motorcycle and SUV along the 1200 block of 3 Avenue South. The operator of the motorcyle was pronounced deceased at the scene.

An investigation was launched by the Traffic Response Unit. It determined the motorcycle was travelling westbound on 3 Avenue South when it struck an SUV attempting to turn eastbound onto 3 Avenue from 12 A Street South.

The SUV then drove across both eastbound lanes, struck a parked truck and continued southbound onto 13 Street before pulling over in the 900 block.

The driver of the SUV, a 68-year-old woman, was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation is on-going.
