Alberta RCMP encouraging motorists priority child seat safety

As November brings in colder temperatures and potentially hazardous road conditions, Alberta RCMP is reminding motorists to prioritize their children’s safety.
Mounties are reminding drivers that infants should be placed in a rear-facing car seat from birth until they are at least two years of age before switching to a front facing seat.
They add car seats must be installed in the rear seat of the vehicle and should have valid Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standards stickers on it.
Mounties says infants should ride in a car seat until they are six, before switching to a booster seat that elevates the child and allows them to sit comfortably with their back against the seat.
