Lethbridge yard waste sites closing for winter on Sunday

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Anyone who needs to clear the leaves off their lawns has just a couple of days to take their bags in for composting.

The City of Lethbridge says the final day for its yard waste sites this year is Sunday, November 17.

They will be closed as of Monday.

Locations for the sites are as follows:

• Bridge Drive West Recycling Station – at the top of Bridge Drive West hill, right before the junction of Bridge Drive West and University Drive
• Stafford Drive North Recycling Station – at the junction of Stafford Drive North and Scenic Drive North
• South Side Recycling Station – located on 28 Avenue South between the Lethbridge Soccer Complex and Lethbridge Judo Club

In 2024, the sites collected over 968 tonnes of yard waste and saw over 32,000 visits.

Grass, leaves and garden waste that is collected will be completed at the Waste & Recycling Centre’s Organics Processing Facility, along with materials from green carts. It is turned into compost that can be collected for free.
