Any Alberta Health Services (AHS) parking ticket obtained between Nov. 8 and Dec. 20 can be wiped out with the donation of a new toy.

The Toys for Tickets campaign is back and allows people to create some good out of getting a fine.

“Last year, we collected more than 870 toys province-wide, nearly doubling the donations from the previous year,” says Nick Ternovatsky, director of parking.

“We are thrilled to continue this tradition, which brings joy to children and families while making the holidays brighter for so many.”

Toys must be new and in their original packaging, be suitable for ages newborn to 17, and be valued at $25 or more.

Donations can be brought to any AHS parking office during office hours from Nov. 16 to Dec. 20.

Recommended items include books, art supplies, science kits, electronics, headphones, Lego sets, baby toys, journals, activity books, crayons, colouring books, and gift cards for grocery stores and restaurants (for families).

Donations will be distributed to children’s foundations and charitable organizations across the province, ensuring the gifts reach children in need this holiday season.

Visit the AHS website for the Medicine Hat and Lethbridge AHS parking office hours and location, as well as for information on the Toys for Tickets campaign.
