Online voting underway for Blood Tribe elections

STANDOFF, AB – Members of a local First Nation will choose their new chief and council this week.

Online voting is now underway for the Blood Tribe elections.

A new chief is guaranteed as Roy Fox is not in the running. A total of 10 people are vying for votes to become chief.

The council race is stacked with 59 people on the registrar.

Online voting is open from 9:00 a.m. on Monday, November 25 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 26, 2024.

The general election day is Wednesday, November 27. Eligible electors can cast their ballots from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the following locations:

  • Standoff – Kainai Multipurpose Building
  • Moses Lake – Moses Lake Community Hall
  • Lethbridge – Sik-Ooh-Kotok Friendship Society
    • 1709 2 Avenue South
  • Calgary – Delta Calgary South
    • 135 Southland Drive S.E.
