Christmas Hope partnership looking for toy, food donations

LETHBRIDGE, AB – A group of charities in Lethbridge are looking for donations of food and toys this holiday season.

Lethbridge Food Bank, Interfaith Food Bank, Salvation Army, Lethbridge Family Services – Angel Tree, MyCityCare – Shop of Wonders, and Volunteer Lethbridge have all teamed up for the Christmas Hope partnership.

The organizations are working together to serve approximately 3,500 adults and 6,500 children this Christmas, but they say they are currently experiencing a shortage of toys and food items.

Most needed toy items include:

  • Baby dolls, Monster High dolls, Rainbow High dolls
  • Science kits
  • Gifts for girls aged 2-12
  • Gifts for teens aged 13-18

Most needed food items include:

  • Halal friendly items
  • Diabetic friendly items
  • Single serving portions
  • Canned meat
  • Cereal
  • Peanut butter
  • Soup

Donations can be given directly to an agency of choice or dropped off at several locations or events throughout Lethbridge. Information on Christmas Hope, or where to drop off donations can be found here.
