Dec 18, 2024 | 9:55 AM

Two different weather alerts are in effect for two different parts of the region.

Environment Canada has issued a wind warning for the southwest corner of Alberta on Wednesday, December 18, 2024.

It impacts communities such as Fort Macleod, Cardston, Pincher Creek, Crowsnest Pass, and Waterton Lakes National Park.

They say west wind gusts up to 100 kilometres per hour are expected late Wednesday morning and afternoon. The winds should die down in the evening.

Much of Alberta, including some southeast areas, is under a snowfall warning.

The impacted communities can expect 10 to 15 cm of snow on Wednesday. Snowfall should taper off in the evening.

The snowfall warning includes Brooks, Bassano and many other communities to the north, as well as Dunmore.

More details on all weather alerts in Alberta can be found on Environment Canada.
