Winners announced for Town of Coaldale & Chamber annual awards

COALDALE, AB – Businesses and individuals in Coaldale are being recognized for their work.

The Town of Coaldale and the Coaldale Chamber of Commerce have announced the 43rd Annual Award and Appreciation Banquet.

Chamber President Robert Woolf says the best and brightest in the community will be celebrated at the event.

“This event is a celebration of the individuals and businesses that help make Coaldale a thriving and active community,” says Woolf. “Their dedication and hard work often go unnoticed, and this is our opportunity to recognize their incredible contributions to our community.”

The winners of the awards have been announced ahead of the banquet:

Coaldale Chamber of Commerce Awards

  • Business of the Year: Coaldale Bakery
  • Customer Service of the Year: Adam Price, Westland Insurance
  • Citizen of the Year: Doreen Lloyd
  • Group Citizens of the Year: Coaldale & Regional PAWS (Pet and Animal Wellness Society)
  • Special Tribute: Christian Connon, Rehoboth Christian Ministries

Town of Coaldale Awards

  • Athlete of the Year: Micheal Barwegen
  • Recreation Leader of the Year: Nic Voorhorst
  • Community Artists of the Year: Jheri Cook & Criss Wiebe
  • Environmental Excellence Award: FortisAlberta
  • Youth Citizen of the Year: Abigail van der Molen

Mayor Jack Van Rijn says, “We invite everyone to come together for this exceptional evening to honor the outstanding achievements of our community members. Your presence will not only celebrate their accomplishments but also highlight the strength and unity of our community.”

The Annual Award and Appreciation Banquet is set to take place February 8, 2025, at the Civic Square Auditorium. Tickets can be purchased at CoaldaleChamber.com
