Bomb threat in Lethbridge turned out to be a hoax

The Lethbridge Police Service (LPS) says there was no risk to the public after a bomb threat was made.

Around 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 2, 2025, police say there was a “swatting” hoax, where a person makes a false report to emergency services to get law enforcement to respond.

LPS says it received a call from an unknown person at the Pure Casino Lethbridge, who claimed that the building was going to explode.

While officers were responding, security members at the casino reported a suspicious package left inside.
