Over 9,000 in Lethbridge area to benefit from Christmas Hope

A collaboration between local non-profits has once again proven to be a success.

The 2024 Christmas Hope campaign will serve just under 9,250 individuals in Lethbridge and the surrounding area.

That includes over 6,200 youths and more than 3,000 adults.

“We consider it a privilege to represent our community with services to these families. Help is always needed, and our community responds with thoughtful kindness, sincerity, and generosity,” reads a media release from the Christmas Hope campaign.

Six charities partner up each holiday season to put on Christmas Hope: Interfaith Food Bank, MyCityCare Shop of Wonders, Salvation Army Toys for Tots, Lethbridge Food Bank, Volunteer Lethbridge, and Lethbridge Family Services Angel Tree.

Items such as toys, food, art supplies and more are collected and given to local families in need.

A media release from the campaign says the 2024 campaign resulted in an increase of 83 toy bundles and 128 hampers compared to the year prior.

However, the organizations did miss their targets of 6,500 children and 3,500 adults.

Nearly 1,300 volunteers put in more than 11,850 hours of work in December for the campaign.
