Trudeau to make announcement at 10 a.m. ET amid calls for resignation
OTTAWA — Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has called a news conference in Ottawa this morning amid growing calls for his resignation.
The Prime Minister’s Office called reporters to Rideau Cottage for 10 a.m. ET and Trudeau is set to speak at 10:45 a.m. ET.
It follows months of speculation over whether Trudeau will decide to step aside and trigger a leadership race.
The Liberals have trailed badly behind the Conservatives in the polls for more than a year and in September the NDP ended the supply-and-confidence agreement that was propping up the Liberal government.
