City of Lethbridge working to repair wastewater pipe leak in river valley

Jan 10, 2025 | 10:17 AM

City of Lethbridge crews are working to address a wastewater pipe leak in the river valley.

The affected area is located northeast of the University of Lethbridge, and it is currently closed off. Members of the public are asked to stay outside the posted fencing and tape.

While work is ongoing, part of the pathway by the river will also be closed to facilitate the repair. The City is working with Alberta Environment to implement a response and repair plan.

No wastewater is believed to have entered the Oldman River, and the City is doing sampling work to make sure.

Repairs are expected to be completed within the next three weeks, weather permitting.
