Hurricanes’ Cleaver ranked as #16 North American goalie for 2025 NHL Draft
LETHBRIDGE, AB – Lethbridge Hurricanes goaltender Koen Cleaver has been recognized by NHL Central Scouting ahead of the 2025 NHL Entry Draft.
NHL Central Scouting released their updated player rankings on January 14, and Cleaver ranks 16th among North American goaltenders. This comes after the 6’1 netminder was included in the ‘players to watch’ rankings earlier this season, where they projected him as a sixth or seventh round draft pick.
Cleaver has played 14 games this season for the Hurricanes, putting up a 3.37 goals against average (GAA) and a .890 save percentage with a 6-8-0 record. He was named the Western Hockey League Goalie of the Week in the first week of the 2024-25 season.
Cleaver was taken by the Hurricanes in the third round of the 2022 WHL Bantam Draft, 48th overall. He is one of just seven WHL goaltenders ranked on the Midterm Rankings this year.
