LETHBRIDGE, AB – Lethbridge Transit is celebrating a very successful 2024 for its Holiday Bus.

Teaming up with community partners, the Holiday Bus visited a number of festive events throughout the season, inviting community members to drop off donations to support the Christmas Hope Campaign.

As a result of its presence, the Holiday Bus collected more than $1,500 in donations, 300lbs of food, cash, gift cards and toys, all donated to the local agencies involved in the campaign.

Joseph Bompiani, Operations Manager of Lethbridge Transit says he is happy to see the generosity of Lethbridge residents, “We are so thankful to the community partners and everyone who donated to the Christmas Hope campaign this season. The Holiday Bus was a really fun and festive way to introduce residents to Lethbridge Transit if they haven’t stepped onto a bus before, while also giving back to the community.”

In 2024, the bus made multiple stops around the city, including at the VisitLethbridge.com Arena, Nikka Yuko Japanese Gardens, and Lethbridge and District Exhibition. It also partnered with the Lethbridge Hurricanes to collect donations.

Bompiani says they are looking to expand for 2025, “We want to thank all of the community partners and residents who helped spread a little joy over the holidays. We look forward to bringing back the Holiday Bus and supporting the community again this year.”

In addition, a social media contest was held alongside the Holiday Bus’ appearances with a chance to win an annual family pass to the Nikka Yuko Japanese Gardens and a 30-day free Transit pass. The winners have been contacted directly.
