Lethbridge Police charge two in drug trafficking investigation

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Lethbridge Police have charged two people in a drug trafficking investigation.

On January 22, members of the LPS Property Crimes Unit and Crime Suppression Team observed a male and female engaged in activity consistent with drug trafficking.

The female was arrested a short time later outside a residence and a targeted traffic stop was conducted, resulting in the arrest of the male. Police conducted searches, and officers say the male suspect was found in possession of more than 300 grams of cocaine, 430 street doses of fentanyl and just over $2,600 in cash proceeds of crime.

The female was found in possession of a small quantity of fentanyl and more than $4,300 in cash proceeds of crime.

Feisal Yasir Ali, 39, of Calgary, is charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, one count of possession of the proceeds of crime and three counts of failing to comply with the conditions of a release order.

Alannah Rilley Anderson, 33, of Lethbridge, is charged with possession of the proceeds of crime and failing to comply with the conditions of a release order.

Ali was remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear in court January 24, while Anderson is awaiting a Judicial Interim Release hearing.
