Lethbridge man named KIJHL division’s top goaltender

He is the second player from Lethbridge to be recognized this week by the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League (KIJHL).

The league announced its Doug Birks Division Awards, with Top Goaltender going to Brenner Fyfe.

The Lethbridge native played 1,725 minutes with the Kamloops Storm this past season, the fourth
most of any player in the KIJHL.

In 30 games, the 18-year-old went 16-12-0 with one shutout with 2.92 goals against average and a .923 save percentage.

Fyfe made 1,013 saves, the fourth most in the league, and has a save percentage of 84.5.

“Fyfe was key to the Storm placing second in the Doug Birks Division, falling short of first by three points,” reads a media release from the KIJHL.

He was named the league’s Top Goalie in the first week of the season.

Over in the Bill Ohlhausen Division, Lethbridge’s Grady Sterling-Ponech was named the Top Defenceman.
