Feb 27, 2025 | 9:14 AM

Environment Canada says southern Albertans can expect powerful winds on Thursday, February 27.

They have issued a wind warning with west wind gusts up to 110 kilometres per hour expected.

Wind speeds will strengthen throughout the morning and peak in the afternoon. It should die down in the evening.

Some of the impacted communities include Lethbridge, Coaldale, Taber, Milk River, Claresholm, Fort Macleod, Pincher Creek, Crowsnest Pass, Cardston, and Waterton Lakes National Park.

“Damage to buildings, such as to roof shingles and windows, may occur. Loose objects may be tossed by the wind and cause injury or damage. Motorists, especially in high profile vehicles, may expect hazardous driving conditions on highways subject to strong cross winds,” reads the wind warning from Environment Canada.
