Brooks RCMP launch investigation into Tuesday stabbing

Police are investigating after a stabbing in the south industrial area of Brooks.

Brooks RCMP responded to a 911 call on Tuesday evening at approximately 7:22 p.m.

Police say a man suffered a stab wound to the chest.

Emergency medical services attended the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital.

Due to the severity of his injuries, he was later airlifted by STARS to Calgary’s Foothills Medical Centre in serious but non-life-threatening condition.

Police said that preliminary information indicates that an altercation occurred between individuals who are known to each other.

Mounties add that it appears to have been an isolated incident, and there is no ongoing threat to public safety.
