City of Lethbridge warns of parking ticket payment scam

Mar 8, 2025 | 6:00 AM

Several residents of Lethbridge say they have received scam messages claiming they have an unpaid parking infraction.

But the City of Lethbridge says text messages from “Alberta Parking Notice” are not legitimate.

They say the texts direct people to provide their credit card information or to log on to a website to do that.

“The City of Lethbridge does not reach out via text message or phone call regarding parking infractions,” reads a notice from the municipality.

In Lethbridge, payments for parking violations can be made in person at city hall, the Park n’ Ride Transit Terminal office at 705 5 Avenue South, or on the City of Lethbridge website.

Anyone who is concerned about a potential violation or who has questions can phone 311 to have the information verified.

The City of Lethbridge and Lethbridge Police Service has created an online safety toolkit that includes information about technology, social media, cyberbullying and cybersecurity.
