Lunar eclipse to start Thursday night, end Friday morning

Mar 13, 2025 | 3:26 PM

We might get to see a lunar eclipse Thursday night into Friday morning if the sky is clear.

The website timeanddate.com says the eclipse will start at 9:57 p.m. Alberta time Thursday night.

Totality, the time when the moon is completely obscured by the Earth, will start at 12:26 a.m. Friday and end at 1:31 a.m.

The eclipse will end at 4:00 a.m. Alberta time Friday morning.

The eclipse will be visible across Canada.

That same website says the next lunar eclipse that will be at least partially visible in Alberta will happen on March 3, 2026.
