One person dead following collision south of Lethbridge

The RCMP is continuing to investigate a fatal collision in southern Alberta.

It occurred just after 12:20 p.m. on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at the intersection of Highways 4 and 845.

A spokesperson with the RCMP told LNN that a person driving a Honda CRV was traveling along Highway 845 and tried to cross Highway 4, resulting in a collision with a semi-truck.

A 74-year-old woman, who was driving the SUV, died while en route to hospital. The RCMP was not able to confirm the community in which she resided.

The driver of the semi-truck was not injured.

The road was closed for seven hours, reopening at approximately 7:30 p.m.

There is no word yet on the cause of the collision nor if charges will be laid.
