A worker died while on the job near Turin, Alberta, and officials are investigating.

A spokesperson with the Alberta RCMP tells LNN that they were called to a construction site just outside of the hamlet a little before 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 19, 2025.

Details are sparse, but Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) reports that a worker died after being struck by an object.

“It is always tragic when a worker dies on the job. Our government’s goal is to have all workers go home healthy and safe after each workday,” reads a statement from OHS.

As this is an active investigation, OHS cannot provide any further information at this time.

Turin is a small community approximately 56 kilometers northeast of Lethbridge along Highway 25.
